After the Michigan State Police and Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department tested the 2015 Ford Taurus Interceptor EcoBoost, they both came to the conclusion that the Blue Oval’s offering is the fastest-accelerating pursuit vehicle in the state.
The Michigan State Police’s testing results showed that the 2015 Police Interceptor with all-wheel drive is able to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 5.85 seconds. 5.7 and 6-liter V8-powered competitors clocked 6.31 and 6.17-second 0 to 60 mph runs, apparently.

On any given day, the GM machine does a 5.9-second run to 60 mph thanks to a 6-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 384 lb-ft (520 Nm). But the Procharged Caprice PPV LSX-9C1 boasts with 489 RWHP and 595 lb-ft (806 Nm) of twist. Sorry Ford, but that Caprice is a properly fast crime-stopping pursuit vehicle.
