The Ford S-Max has always bet on the family entertainment card. Such a niche product isn’t the kind that sells itself, which means Ford designers have worked to explain the car visually. For us, this meant plenty of photo opportunities to shoot the car and we’re now serving it to you in Full HD resolution.

We’ve seen plenty of vehicles with an attractive design that fades out towards the rear end. Well, the S-Max isn’t one of them. In fact, the taillights are one of the best bits of this MPV. As for that rear hatch, it might seem massive, but you can always use the kick-to-open feature that debuted on the Kuga.

Peaceful. This is how the atmosphere inside the S-Max feels, even when you’re overdoing the throttle work. The only issue in this department comes from the door mirror wind noise. Despite having improved over the previous generation, there’s still too much of it.

Cyclists - the roads were flooded with them during our drive and this was a good opportunity to test the S-Max’s visiblity. While inside the city you can easily rely on the 180-degree camera system up front, out on the open road you’re on your own. The B-pillars could be thicker.

The S-Max feels natural inside the city, with the serious soundproofing keeping the urban buzz away. Of course, sliding doors would’ve been nice for the access. While Ford has gifted the Grand C-Max with such a feature, it’s not present on the S-Max. Come to think of it, even the larger Ford Galaxy comes with standard doors.

No, people had not run away when we arrived. It was siesta time when we took this shot, which meant we could have some time alone with the S-Max. In fact, you can see the complete results of our mom-and-dad game in the Full HD photo gallery of our 2015 Ford S-Max review.
