The Fat Bob is one of the most iconic bikes in the centennial history of Harley-Davidson, and the 2015 model year retains the entire character and features of the previous year’s machine. That is, if you were maybe expecting new things from the Fat Bob camp, this is definitely not your year. Retaining the model unchanged, save for some minor modifications in the color palette, may be seen as too much a conservative approach to some. Still, this also proves that the “recipe” Harley used in the past is working very well and is in no needs of heavy upgrades.
At the heart of the 2015 Fat Bob you’ll find the air-cooled Twin Cam 103 engine packing 1,670cc of thundering Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injected might, producing a maximum of 135 Nm (99.5 lb-ft) of torque at 3,500 rpm, just like it did last year. The Six Speed Cruise Drive transmission is also in place, with its cool-looking chromed forward mounted controls and wrinkle black trim.

Aggressive looks are as cool as ever

The Fat Bob also retains the beefy front tire which became over time a badge of bobber cognizance. At the same time, the black machined aluminium slotted disc wheels are in place, showing off their laser-engraved graphics which are an eye-pleasing complement to the tank design.

The bulbous 5-gallon (19-liter) fuel tank has minimalist diagonal graphics and is a no-nonsense statement of simplicity and good looks. The console is mounted on top of the tank and is flanked by two shiny filler caps. It got a black trim and its slender profile matches the drag bar and the aggressive, dual headlight cluster.

Harley only added Superior Blue as a new graphic scheme to go with the existing Sand Camo Denim, Black Denim, Mysterious Red Sunglo and Vivid Black. ABS remained an ex-works option, and the base price is identical to that of the 2014 machines, $15,699 in the US. Across the pond in Germany, the 2015 Fat Bob can be yours for €16,995.
