The 2015 Cayenne is more than just a mid-cycle revamp. In fact, this is Porsche truly embracing the idea of building an SUV. We've been following the Cayenne since day one and while we've always been stunned by the performance, there was always a little trace of discomfort for this segment. You know, the little things such as the fine tuning of the suspension, as well as the seat firmness. Well, this is exactly what Porsche has addressed with the facelift for the second-generation Cayenne. How we came to appreciate the cozyness details of the Cayenne
Actually, we never quite complained about the drawbacks we mentioned above when we tested any of the Cayennes that fell into our hands. Nevertheless, we were so impressed by the German SUV that we decided to get one for long-term testing a while back.

And when our wives and children started riding with us, the shortcomings became more obvious. No longer was the devilish exhaust sound of the Cayenne GTS enough to seal the deal and the same goes for the sheer snarl of the Turbo.

As we said, such issues have been corrected with this refresh. These subtle changes polished the car, earning their place in this article ahead of the engine downsizing brought by the facelift.

The power delivery

We focused our review on the Cayenne S model. This dropped its atmospheric 4.8-liter V8 to a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V8, an engine that has already debuted on the Macan Turbo.

We aren't going to beat around the bush - that V8 relaxation is gone. Nonetheless, the efficiency you receive in return is not to be ignored. Of course, if you're the heavy-footed kind, the transformation won't have too much of an effect. If, however, you mind your driving style, you will see an improvement.

For the sake of the Porsche crest, even a Turbo can be efficient these days! Aside from reviewing the S, we spent a day hypermiling in a Turbo. Despite having to stick to a strict schedule, the car allowed us to get very close to the official efficiency figures. How many of the 520 horses did we use in the process?

We don't want to talk about that. We do want to discuss a ton of other aspects of the now-V6 model, as we're inviting you over to our  2015 Porsche Cayenne S review.
