Just about every large SUV made by the Germans is expensive, so the 2015 Touareg was refreshingly simple, a tool that does its job well without pretending to be a sportscar on the weekends. However, there's nothing wrong with a bit more power, is there? That's why we give the 410 HP package from JE Design the thumbs up.
This company has been tuning VW and SEATs since before it was cool. They had no problem turning a family-oriented SUV into something with curb appeal. Let's see how they did it.

First off, they took a peek under the bonnet and decided to spice things up. When it leaves the factory, the 2015 Touareg V8 TDI packs 340 HP and 800 Nm (591 lb-ft) of torque. Those numbers have been boosted to 410 HP and an AMG-rivaling 930 Nm (687 lb-ft). At €2,400, the engine package is relatively cheap, and it's backed by a two-year warranty that also covers the eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox.

The increased power output shaves 0.4 seconds from the sprint time, so 0 to 100 km/h takes only 5.4 seconds. Remember, this isn't some sportscar with launch control and a 7,000rpm redline, so that number is impressive.

Work then started on the 2015 Touareg R-Line's body kit, crafting an aero kit that includes new grilles, bumpers, skirts and spoilers. It's a complex array of parts, but you can still recognize the design Volkswagen wanted us to see. The good news is that the entire body kit can be ordered from as little as €4,760.

You may have also noticed that the Je Design version of the SUV sits a little lower. That's because of the 22-inch wheels and electronic lowering module. Small interior upgrades like mats with white piping and door sills are available.

It's hard not to like what they've done to the car, especially when Volkswagen charges €4,000 for a set of chromed alloy wheels. But the JE Design body kit is the exact opposite of discrete.
