The rumor mill about the new Ford Ka started going round and round two years ago when carparazzi spotted what at that time they called a "mysterious Ford small hatch."
Since then, test mules began to pop up on various occasions. In fact, earlier this year, the new Ford Ka was spotted on UK roads, with the prototype looking just like the concept revealed in 2013.

However, six months have passed with no sign for the new Ka, until our team of carparazzi sent in a batch of pictures showing the small Ford being put through its paces in the Alps.

Naturally, we rushed to have a better look at the images, hoping they'd tell us a thing or two about the upcoming Ford Ka.

Now, you should know the Ka is also available for the South American market - in Brazil, for example, but for Europe there's no doubt Ford will slightly change the car's looks.

Although still covered in psychedelic camouflage foils, the new Ka allows us to a see a changed bumper and a different grille up front. Our guess is that the new Ka will retain Ford's Aston Martin-esque, wide-open front grille, framed by the same swept-back headlights as we got to see on the Fiesta and Focus hatchbacks.

Engine-wise, we expect the new Ford Ka to draw its strenght from a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 74 horsepower, similar to the one available for the ongoing Ford Fiesta.

In the petrol department, we expect an assortment of EcoBoost mills, including Ford's award-winning 1.0-liter unit with 100 horsepower, the same amount Opel is offering on the Adam.

We expect the new Ka to meet the public and the media next year, maybe in Geneva or later, at the Paris Motor Show, but such details are scarce at the moment. As usual, we'll keep you posted on this subject.
