After having its fair share of city and winter conditions testing in the past months, Kia's upcoming Cee'd Sportswagon was spotted by carparazzi undergoing the same treatment, but in a warmer setting.
It could be Spain, judging by the arid surroundings and the nice weather, but the location is not that important when it comes to the Cee'd Sportswagon.

Judging by previous rumors spinning around and by the amount of camouflage still covering the car's front and rear ends, Kia has a long list of changes in store for the family-oriented version of the Cee'd.

Technical changes are the most important, and among those, Kia will bring their first dual-clutch (DCT) gearbox for performance models powered by the 1.6-liter turbo unit. Under the hood, Kia will populate the engine bay with a 1.0-liter T-GDI engine that's already being rolled out into production. However, the 120 HP it delivers might not be enough to serve properly the Cee'd Sportswagon.

As a result, Kia will add a 1.2-liter T-GDI mill packing around 140 HP, an output that should do the trick and make up for the 1.0-liter's lack of muscle. Goodies are included for these engines, as South-Korean engineers came up with a split cooling system tasked with heating up the engine block first to boost efficiency.

Customers' budgets is what Kia wants to protect if officials decide to equip the Cee'd Sportwagon with a Kappa 1.4 T-GDI Bi-Fuel that can run on compressed natural gas (CNG). They already have the technology and the right setup, but will face competition from European names such as Opel, Volkswagen and Skoda.

Visually, we should expect a certain German feel when the facelifted Cee'd Sportswagon launches, most of it expressed by the new bumpers, grille and wheel designs.
