There's no rest for the carparazzi, but their persistence usually pays off. It happened again after our spy photographers caught the upcoming 2016 Mercedes SLC during testing.
The renamed & facelifted SLK was spotted in Germany, wearing strategic-placed camo bits on the and rear end. Being the oldest model in Mercedes-Benz's current lineup entitled the SLK to a refresh meant to align the roadster to the company's more recent design language.

Remember, we already spied the SLK facelift - or SLC, according to Mercedes' revised nomenclature - as an early pre-production test car. Since it only had that psychedelic camo pattern covering the rear end, we could see some basic styling changes.

This time, the test prototype is wearing covers on both its headlights and taillights, but it's easy to spot the new grille, the redesigned bumper and the headlights with new graphics. At the back, Stuttgart designers only focused on taillights and changed the look on the rear bumper, but, all in all, that's about it.

A potential SLC 55 AMG version must also be taken into account, although it's way too early for that to happen. However, if Mercedes will come up with such a version, it might ditch the 5.5-liter V8 used by the ongoing SLK 55 and go for a 4.0-liter V8.

Coming back to Mercedes' change in nomenclature, officials say the facelifted SLK will become the SLC in 2016. That means next year's Geneva Motor Show will most likely be the catwalk for the roadster, but we'll know more as Mercedes-Benz starts making more official announcements.
