Last night’s Top Gear episode was abundant with all things we love about the BBC2 show. Captain Slow reviewed the Mercedes-AMG GT S, Jezza prefered the i8 over the F80 M3, Hammond paid homage to the soon-to-be-gone Land Rover and we had two stars in the reasonably priced Vauxhall Astra hatchback.
Spoiler alert: Margot Robbie was faster than Mr. Will “getting’ jiggy-with-it” Smith around the Top Gear circuit, but that’s not what interest us most. The highlight of series 22’s episode 4 was the news section, during which Jezza said a curious thing.
As you can see in the screenshot above, the TG trio was talking about how the S550 Mustang is the first of its kind to be sold in Europe and to be made available in right-hand drive guise as well.
In the press release accompanying the Shelby GT350’s debut at the Detroit Auto Show, Ford disclosed that the muscle car’s Voodoo 5.2-liter V8 “is the most powerful naturally aspirated production Ford engine ever, with more than 500 horsepower and more than 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque.” Considering that the Boss 302 Mustang churned 444 HP from its 5-point-0 vee-eight, the purported 520 HP seems like it's plausible.

Jeremy Clarkson let it slip that it’s got a V8 with “520 horsepower,” without further exploring the subject. This statement should be taken with a grain of salt though.
