Redesigned from the inside out, the 2017 Ford Escape shows what it's made of at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. More technology, better fuel economy, and a prettier face are on the agenda of the smallest SUV sold by the Detroit-based giant in the United States.
Compared to the previous model year, the 2017 Ford Escape goes the extra mile on the beauty front. Botox has been applied to the front fascia, where you'll find the modern Ford grille design, more alluring headlights and fog lights, and differently styled bumper. Cool LED taillights are on the menu as well.

Three all-new exterior finishes (White Gold, Canyon Ridge, Lightning Blue) and 6 new designs for the wheels round off the exterior overhaul. Once you hop inside of the redesigned Ford Escape, you'll discover updated air vents, a more streamlined center stack with two cup holders, a new steering wheel, a more comfortable armrest, along with a smart electronic parking brake.

On the other hand, the SYNC 3 infotainment system brings SYNC Connect to the masses. This gizmo allows owners to lock/unlock, start the engine, check the tire pressure, and locate the 2017 Escape using a smartphone app. Furthermore, the SYNC 3 infotainment system also boasts faster performance, an easy-to-understand graphical interface, and improved conversational voice recognition. Regarding driving-oriented technology, the 2017 Ford Escape SUV comes with adaptive cruise control, enhanced active park assist, a lane-keeping feature, and a Driver Alert System.

Last but not least, engineers decided to grant the Escape two EcoBoost turbo engines. The first is a 1.5-liter turbo that replaces the old 1.6. The four-cylinder motor delivers 180 horsepower and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) and it comes with Auto Start-Stop as standard. For the 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft (374 Nm) 2-liter twin-scroll turbo, Ford employed the same fuel-saving technology.

As for the 2.5-liter naturally aspirated mill we know from previous model years, it was carried over and it has the same performance specifications as before. A 6-speed automatic is standard for all engine options.

The estimated time of arrival for the 2017 Ford Escape is spring 2016.
