The spyshots we have been seeing lately showing 2017 Toyota Prius test mules wandering around might suggest a launch in the near future. But until that happens, let's have another look at the Prius.
Our team of carparazzi just sent in a hefty batch of photos that show the upcoming TNGA-based Toyota Prius under the same annoying dark camouflage. As a bonus, we also get a glimpse of the hybrid's cabin.

Before you dive into the photo gallery to look at the spyshots, let's discuss for a moment what the new Prius will offer in terms of interior design and amenities, based on what the pictures reveal.

After a thorough examination, it's safe to say this is the interior we'll see on the production version Toyota Prius. This is important because older spyshots were suggesting the popular hybrid would be gifted with a traditional interior, rather than a modern one.

An analogue instrument panel was rumored to sit in front of the driver, but as you can see, that's not the case here. Although the next Prius will maintain its center-biased gauge cluster, spread wide across the center of the dash, you can clearly spot the large LCD screen dominating the center stack.

Knowing Toyota, we guess this will handle the majority of the vehicles functions while the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system will be operated by traditional buttons - in a strip placed beneath the graphic display.

On the information display at the top of the dashboard, the driver will be able to see the speedometer, transmission settings, energy usage and flow-related details.

The thing is, Toyota has to face a lot more competition than it did in the past, which means they're somehow obliged to bring their A-game to the party, especially since Chevrolet has an improved Volt PHEV.

The exterior still has zero words to address us, mainly because of that tent-like camouflage kit covering the Prius' body. We'll know more soon, but we'll keep you posted if additional details emerge in the meanwhile.
