Apparently, having a two-liter engine that delivers 360 HP doesn’t cut it anymore these days. Mercedes itself has just introduced an upgrade that takes its 45 AMG models to 381 hp and the tuning market also wants a slice of the M133 (internal code for the engine) pie.
The latest example of this comes from German aftermarket developer performaster, which has developed a power pack for the 45 AMG family. The tuner has chosen the newest member of this family, namely the CLA45 AMG Shooting Brake, to showcase its development.

The tech details of this German-tune-on-German-car affair

We are talking about a power box, not an ECU remap, which takes the 2-liter engine to 410 hp and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque.

Since they were at it, the tuning specialists thought they could also play with the car’s electronic speed limited, so now the Shooting Brake has gone from 250 km/h (155 mph) to 280 km/h (174 mph).

Sure, we had to let you know about this tuning kit since it was all new. But after we recently reviewed the CLA45 AMG Shooting Brake, we were impressed with the car’s overall balance. There are faster models out there, as well as more comfortable ones, but it’s incredibly hard to reach this kind of balance. As a result, this car deserves to be left in stock condition.

Yes, tuning explorations can also be delightful, but they’re only worth it if they transform the vehicle into a 500 hp+ monster.
