Street racing tourism has long become a trend in the US, with many drivers who have the possibility to take it to Mexico never missing a chance to dip into the potential of the country's softer law enforcement.
As a result, we come across street battle footage from Mexico on a regular basis. With the cars that take part in these races getting more and more powerful, the kind of speeds they develop means Mexican highways have become one extreme road network.
While the local police usually won't go after street racers, some of the drivers involved in such activities like to take things too far on certain occasions. The latest example of this comes from the video below.
The clip sees a group of cars whose outputs sit anywhere between 600 and 1,000 hp, so we know we're talking serious velocities. As the vehicles fly down the highway, they go right past a police vehicle.
Despite one of the drivers letting his fellow racers know the cop is tailing them, the drivers decided to go for it anyway. As a result, the police car has solid evidence of the race, engaging in a pursuit and eventually pulling over a Corvette.
Did this discourage the other drivers? Nope. Once the cop got busy with the 'Vette, the others simply kept things quiet for a few moments, only to engage in another race once they put enough distance between them and the police.
Perhaps the spiciest part of this dangerous adventure is that the camera car is a Dodge Challenger Hellcat. As if the 707 ponies of the stock blown 6.2-liter V8 were not enough, the driver upped the ante to 800 horses. And no, you won't be able to tease the guy by picking on the Hellcat's relationship to the scales. For one thing, the muscle car's nickname is "Fatt Cat."
